Chase Your Dreams

My six months working full-time as a Peer Specialist/Recovery Peer Advocate is coming to an end; I have decided for health reasons to move back flexing part-time. Two things were of concern relating to this decision. The first was my health, the long hours created a variety of stressors that lead to a cycling of the COPD/anxiety feedback loop. My breathing suffered, anxiety, diet, exercise, social life, recreation all were thrown out of balance. The second reason, in referencing the above, I felt spiritually suffocated with little opportunity to pursue what brings me joy and peace. The moral of this story is to listen to your body and heart, take care of yourself and place YOU first when you need to. Life is too short not to. Chase your dreams.
