11/22/19 – Sapsucker Woods – Lansing, NY- 100mm Macro

Sapsucker Woods has been holding on to my exclusive interest for some days now, there is so much variation and change happening in the shallow swamp waters with temperatures swinging below and above freezing. Sections of the trail is raised boardwalks where I hang over or between the rails or lay flat on my stomach. I have been getting hundreds of interesting shots; being a boom and bust hobby, I’ll take it. I am unable to use a tripod here, so I have been setting the camera to shutter priority, dialing in 1/400 sec, 320 ISO and go at it. Most of my subject matter in general is under varying levels of shade, these excursions being no different.
